Iiiiiiiiiiiiit's Friiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiidaaaaaaaaaay!

Oh yeah, oh yeah, three weeks...til my birthday.

*does the roger rabbit*
*tries to do a flip and falls on her face*

Muahahahahaha! I don't care...I'm still excited. Today is suppose to be 75 degrees. It's Friday, I have a job, and I have ish to do. Oh yeah. Go me. I plan on doing nothing this weekend. Roacha wants to drag me to Dream tonite to go see Ludacris. I know most girls out there would kill to go. But damn. I ain't drinking til my birthday. I don't like to go to Ghetto bougois clubs anymore. Me and hip-hop are growing apart. I tried of going out every freaking weekend anyways. Why the hell, am i going to spend $20 to be sober and in the same space as some celebrity I ain't ever going to see. That makes soo much sense. If I was going to spend that $20, I would go to cubik instead. At least they have a "REAL" open bar and not that dolla a watered-down rum and coke shit. At least there I can at a fool, dress up or down, get drunk for free and keep $10 of my money. And see my friends. It's hard to tell Roach no sometimes cause she takes alot of things personally. Plus, when is the last fucking time she ever wanted to hang out with me @ Cubik? She hasn't wanted to hang with me in like months. *Note to self: Rant about Roach later* I don't like the pretentiousness of clubs like Dream and Home and H20. Especially the fuck not platinum. Why would I want to spend $8 on a rum and coke? That right there is just plain ludacris....

In other news, My dad decided to stay in Oklahoma for a couple more days which is good. I'm glad he decided to spend more time with his parents. He left tuesday because one of his aunts died. But he decided to stay to visit some family. So he's doing well. I cant' think of anything else to say @ the moment.

Five things I'm greatful for today

1. My family's good health.
2. getting a good night sleep.
3. Delivery
4. Chief Black Kettle
5. My Grandma Katie...I miss her...I need to go home and visit.

She's suppose to come stay with me on the 19th - 28th. I can't wait. She's a really awesome woman/dork. I so happy to have met her.

And in other new, I'm going to Vegas to get hitched for a dae. I know a whole helluva lot of people probably won't approve of this...but hey...if brittany spears can do it, so can I. I think I'll drink 12 red bulls though because I am twice the woman she is! *LOL* We'll see if I have the balls. I'm trying to get Stephy to go since she stood me up on Valentines. She gets to be my maid of honor. *smile*

Anyways...

Five things I'm greatful for today

1. The two boxes of Capri Suns under my desk...I can't seem to drink enough.
2. The fresh rain on the ground that reminds me of Oklahoma.
3. that it's one day closer to my birthday. (Click on the wishlist to see what I want....and buy it for me! LOL)

5. My F*cker who never ceases to amaze me everyday.

NATIVE AMERICAN RED VINYL RECORDING ARTIST LITEFOOT REQUESTS ATTENDANCE FROM HIP HOP ARTIST ANDRE 3000 AND GROUP OUTKAST AT GATHERING OF THE NATIONS POWWOW TO HEAR VERBAL APOLOGY FOR GRAMMY PERFORMANCE

Nashville, TN ? February 20, 2004 ? Litefoot, founder and recording artist for Red Vinyl Records, 2003 Native American Music Awards ?Male Artist of the Year? as well as four-time winner for ?Hip Hop Album of the Year,? Hollywood actor, and Board Member and spokesperson for the Association For American Indian Development (A4AID) is requesting an appearance from Outkast?s Andre 3000 at this year?s Gathering of Nations Powwow for him to give a verbal apology to the Native American people in regards to his performance at this year?s Grammy Awards show, which broadcast on CBS on February 8th.

Litefoot strongly feels that the recent Outkast performance is one of many offenses towards the Native American people and he passionately believes that the disrespect for his people has gone on far too long.

The performance included Andre 3000 jumping out of a smoking tipi, surrounded by African American girls wearing green fringe leather go-go outfits and his DJ had on a full eagle feather headdress. The University of Southern California?s marching band joined them onstage with chicken feather hats and war paint on their faces. Andre was dressed in a green jumpsuit with feathers and moccasin boots, and he and his crew of dancers jumped around, popping their mouths.

?This performance represented the stereotypes [Native Americans] have been trying to overcome for decades,? said Litefoot. As an actor, Litefoot is faced with this racism and stereotypes in many of his roles, but through it all knows that the ultimate story line in everything is ?...with racism and stereotypes there is destruction.? He has been fighting for the people of Indian Country continuously over the past decade and has been recognized as a leadership figure to Native Americans, especially the youth.

The proud member of The Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma is outraged and sincerely disappointed in the lack of mention over this act of disrespect. He feels that Arista Records, Outkast, CBS, The FCC and The Grammy?s should be held accountable for this travesty.

?The FCC said nothing and no one else has even formally recognized it with an apology,? Litefoot complained. ?And look at the light that they are shining on that Janet Jackson issue. Her breast gets more attention than our whole race of people being utterly humiliated.?

Aside from the Grammy Awards, Litefoot has expressed other examples of disrespect fueling his anger. The night before the awards show, he watched a ?Native American Character? be made a fool of on Saturday Night Live. And, recently, saw the new issue of Vibe Magazine with Alicia Keys on the cover, in which the fashion section features an African American model in a nice suit with a head dress on. Also, it upsets him to see the Native American culture exploited through professional sports mascots and sports reporting such as Jillian Barbarei?s comment on FOX that simply and harshly stated in regards to the protest against Outkast, ?...Indians need to get a life.?

As an ultimate response to the ongoing disrespect towards his native people, Litefoot is organizing what he calls ?The Campaign For Equality,? which he proclaims will stand for the people and against human rights violations and civil rights atrocities like that which happened at the Grammy?s, but are perpetuated against the indigenous people of this country daily.

According to Litefoot, the campaign will focus on bringing awareness to mainstream society and reach worldwide. It will bring attention to the contradictions in society regarding civil liberties and basic human rights as today in the world for Native people. And he plans to take a strong look at the obvious contradictions held in hip hop regarding the recent EMINEM issue of race and the lack of acknowledgment and comment by other hip hop artists and hip hop press concerning the Outkast incident.

A major part of the campaign is the Gathering of Nations Powwow, which will happen April 23 and 24th in Albuquerque, NM. This is the largest annual event in Indian Country, uniting over 100,000 people from around the world. The ?Reach the Rez Concert Stage,? at the event, is expected to gather over 60,000 people in two days.

Litefoot has invited Rev. Jesse Jackson to appear as his guest at the Powwow. He hopes that Jackson, who agrees that the Grammy performance was inappropriate, will help to bring Outkast to the event to make a formal apology in person. A reputable source has said that a written apology was sent to the Associated Press, but Litefoot and the Native American people have never seen it.

?This would give Andre 3000 the perfect platform to say what he has to say, and give an explanation to the largest predominately Native American crowd he would ever be able to gather in person,? said Litefoot.

?We will make a difference no matter how long we have been told that we will not! I have made my mind up and I will not stop until I come home with a victory for the people!?

Skipped a day?

Yay, Ryan called two days in a row. Lucky me. He's doing great and taking it easy. I'm glad. He's already in Dallas which is great. He's going through withdrawls from the umbillical cord being chopped off. He's dealing. I'm just glad that I did that ish a while back. I had to gnaw my cord off. But I'm a better person for it. Don't ge me wrong I love my mamma. She made me the beautiful Native woman that I am. But she also has her crazy times. And I was taking up to much responsiblity. Blah blah blah. Anyways.

WHAT IF.....

What if Michael Jordan, who was dismissed from the Washington Wizards,

has finally come to the conclusion that no matter how popular he was in

basketball and around the world, some little old white man controlled

his destiny. Michael Jordan's destiny. I mean he put over

$40 million in ticket sales alone in Abe Pollin's coffers. The Wizards

were a team that he alone personally made popular and profitable. He

alone made the team and organization a star attraction in every city he

went to play. # 23 - Jordan's Wizard jerseys selling off the rack at

sporting goods stores everywhere. Not to mention the economic impact

that he made on Washington, DC and the league all around. But all that

doesn't matter because Jordan doesn't own what he created the value for.

BUT WHAT IF...

What if immediately after that meeting with Abe Pollin, Jordan got on

his phone and called Bob Johnson, Oprah Winfrey, Bill Cosby, Willie

Gary, Magic Johnson, Russell Simmons, John Johnson, Cathy Hughes, Sean

Combs, Master P. and said, "it's time". "It's time for us not to own

just a team, but it's time for us to own our resources: sports and

entertainment".

Of course David Stern, Abe Pollin and other NBA owners would be laughing

their asses off. Thinking, those Negroes are trying to start a league of

their own. Ha! ha! ha! ha!

Then in the very next batch of calls, he calls: John Thompson, Charles

Barkley, Paul Silas, Isaiah Thomas, Maurice Cheeks, Doc Rivers, Lenny

Wilkins and others and says, " we need experienced coaches for our new

league. We have the investors, now we need coaches, general managers

and front office personnel. It's time! Will you join us in making world

history?"

The laughs from Abe and David have subsided, but they are still coming.

And they still have doubts. Those Negroes can't do it.

Then in the last batch of calls, while Abe and David Stern are still

laughing, Michael Jordan calls Allen Iverson, Shaquille O'Neal, Kobe

Bryant, Tracy McGrady, Chris Webber, Kevin Garnett, Vince Carter, Jason

Kidd, Tim Duncan, Paul Pierce and Lebron James and says "it's time." He

continues, "My partners and I are starting a new league and we need you.

We need to control what we have given to this earth in terms of our

entertainment, sports and athleticism. Without you, there is NO NBA.

Forget your contracts, you all are all millionaires. Come with us and

let's make history."

Abe and David Sterns aren't laughing anymore. They realize that there is

something serious happening and Michael Jordan, the most popular and

beloved athlete in the world is leading the charge.

"Well what about arenas?" the owners say. "We own them".

"Fine. There are plenty of arenas in every city that are not being used.

They are old, but hey it's a start. So we'll lease them".

"Well, what about TV?" Abe asks.

"No problem. Willie Gary and Cathy Hughes' companies are starting cable

channels. We'll run our games on them for now as well as BET, then we

will negotiate with the major networks soon. And with Cathy, we've got

radio broadcasting, so that isn't a problem either."

"Well, how do you advertise?, Abe sneered.

"No problem. We get Russell Simmons, Jay-Z, P-Diddy and Master P. to

get every rapper and R&B singer in the world to talk about the new

league in all their songs. We'll do commercials and videos with Bill

Cosby, Spike Lee and even Oprah yelling "The UBA is fantastic [Universal

Basketball Association], others can play, we just want to own). We'll

get John Johnson and Earl Graves to write about it in Jet, Ebony and

Black Enterprise. We'll get FUBU, Sean John and Rocawear to design the

team uniforms. We'll get Oprah to talk about the new league and

interview players, investors, coaches on her show.

We'll get Johnnie Cochran and Willie Gary to head our legal team.

We'll get actors like Halle Berry and Denzel Washington to publicly

endorse the league and attend the games. And finally, we get Michael

Jordan, the biggest draw in the world to put his competitive spirit and

name recognition behind it".

There are a lot of intangibles missing in this hypothetical situation,

but nevertheless, this "what if" could be the trigger to set Mr. Jordan

on a path that would really put his name in the history books.

He alone has the clout to bring this to fruition.

When are African Americans going to stop hating and start cooperating

with each other to do something on this scale?

When are African-Americans going to stop being used by sport owners and

start thinking OWNERSHIP? Bob Johnson is great, but he had to be voted

in by 28 other white men.

If we collectively take what is ours, sports and entertainment, and hold

it back from the world until we own it, then we can control our own

destiny.

It sounds far-fetched, but IT CAN BE DONE. Then Michael Jordan, the

greatest player to ever play basketball, will not have to worry ever

again of being used by someone for personal financial gain. If Mike

owned the league, he's the one who'd be doing the firing and hiring. And

then a person like Abe Pollin would have no choice but to respect the

greatest basketball player to ever live.

What if....

WHAT IF YOU PASSED THIS TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW AND IT GOT TO OME OF THOSE

PEOPLE MENTIONED IN THIS E-MAIL, LIKE MIKE. YOU NEVER KNOW!!!!

REMEMBER THESE WORDS... "Those who don't understand interest pay it,

those who do, earn it."
